Calm, reliable technology support.

Built for professional services firms in regulated fields — healthcare, legal, financial advisory, and accounting — where compliance is part of the job, not an add-on. Santa Cruz County based, not a generic ticket factory.

How we think about IT

Our job is to take technology off your worry list.

Five principles guide every recommendation, configuration and conversation. They're how we keep our advice straight, our quotes honest, and your environment quiet.

01

Local first. Business aware.

We understand how local businesses actually operate.

Sproutling IT is built for Santa Cruz County businesses — not generic ticket factories. We understand local workflows, lean teams, hybrid work and compliance realities. IT support designed around real people, real offices, and real stakes.

02

Stability, security & continuity.

Your systems should not be a source of stress.

Most businesses don't need bleeding-edge tech. They need systems that are secure, documented, monitored, and dependable. We focus on stability over flash — preventing issues before they interrupt your work and protecting your data.

03

Clear communication, no jargon.

You'll always know what's happening and why.

IT should be understandable. You'll never be left guessing what's broken, what was fixed, or what needs attention next. We translate technical decisions into business impact so you can make informed choices.

04

Right-sized solutions.

Technology should fit today and still make sense tomorrow.

We don't oversell, overbuild, or push unnecessary upgrades. We design systems that match your current size and complexity — with room to grow. As your needs change, we help you intentionally evolve your technology, not reactively.

05

Integrated thinking.

Technology should support your operations, not exist in a vacuum.

We see IT inside a broader ecosystem of business operations, marketing, and growth strategy. Your technology decisions should support how you sell, communicate, collaborate, and scale — not just whether a server is online.

In short

Boring, dependable, & quietly excellent.

We aim to be the IT partner you eventually stop thinking about — because everything's working, the reports show up on time, and the helpdesk responds before you have to chase it.

When you need help

Clear response commitments. No guessing.

Whatever the issue, you'll know exactly when you'll hear from us and what kind of resolution to expect. These are our standard service-level commitments — Executive tier clients get additional after-hours coverage at no extra cost.

Priority What it means Response time Resolution target
Critical System down. Business stopped. ≤ 2 hours Same-day best effort
High Major disruption affecting multiple users. ≤ 4 hours 24 hours
Medium Single-user issue with a workaround available. ≤ 8 hours 2–3 business days
Low General requests or questions. ≤ 24 hours As scheduled
After-hours emergency support is available at $200 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Executive tier clients receive after-hours support for critical issues at no additional charge.
Desktop support & hardware

No mystery line items. Here's how billing works.

Your monthly fee covers our management and support. Hardware, software licensing, and project-scale work are passed through transparently — costs shown as separate line items, never buried.

What's included

  • Support for PCs, laptops, printers, monitors and peripherals
  • Driver installation, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Client-purchased hardware installs for small peripherals — monitors, mice, keyboards, single-user printers

What's billed separately

  • Support incidents requiring more than 4 hours of continuous engineering time — classified as project work
  • Replacement hardware costs and consumables (toner, cables, and similar)
  • Software licensing — your monthly fee covers our management and support, not the software itself

Pass-through pricing

  • Microsoft 365 and cloud software: vendor cost plus a 15% management fee, shown as a separate line item
  • Hardware procurement: vendor cost plus a flat $150 per device
  • Third-party tools (QuickBooks, Adobe, tax software) remain yours to purchase — we'll happily manage the licenses
  • Vendor price changes pass through directly; we notify you before adjusting your invoice
Onsite coverage by tier: Solo Practice is remote-first with onsite available at an hourly rate. Practice Starter and Professional include one scheduled onsite visit per quarter. Executive includes reasonable onsite visits — major hardware installs remain project work on every tier.
Built for regulated industries

We understand the compliance environment your business operates in.

If your organization must comply with HIPAA, the FTC Safeguards Rule (GLBA), SEC Regulation S-P, CCPA/CPRA, or PCI DSS, you need an IT partner who understands what compliance really entails at the systems level. We set up, monitor and document your environment with these frameworks in mind — so when an auditor inquires, you have the right answers.

HIPAA FTC Safeguards (GLBA) SEC Reg S-P CCPA / CPRA PCI DSS BAAs available
We support your compliance efforts through proper system configuration and monitoring. We are not compliance auditors or legal advisors. Your organization remains responsible for maintaining your overall compliance program.
Let's talk compliance
  1. System configuration aligned to security best practices

MFA enforcement, encryption, patching schedules and logging configured from day one.

  2. Monitoring & alerting for compliance-related events

Proactive detection of configuration drift, failed logins and access anomalies that could trigger audit findings.

  3. Documentation to support your compliance program

Policies, procedures and system records you can hand directly to auditors or legal counsel.

  4. BAAs & Safeguards attestations

Executed Business Associate Agreements for HIPAA-covered entities; Safeguards Rule attestations for financial services and accounting firms.
